IPAD POS HARDWARE

Unlike traditional stand-alone POS systems installed on-site, all application pieces in Aireus are services that can be deployed anywhere in the enterprise, limited only by network topology. Cloud Architecture easily supports thousands of iPads producing tens of thousands of transactions. All this is done with resiliency through redundancy LAN and the Internet. The traditional legacy concept of the system being up or down does not apply to Aireus because iPads are not dependent on a single PC server. This means a more scalable and reliable system.

Aireus is designed from the ground up to be a multi-user system and architecturally capable of serving thousands of iPad POS terminals. Customers can easily add devices to their restaurant POS and unlike traditional restaurant POS systems, there is no need to install a local computer at the restaurant level. Aireus is exclusively designed as a native Apple iOS application and supports iGeneration products, namely the iPad 2+ and iPad Mini. Devices are used as both mobile and stationary iPad POS workstations that replace traditional restaurant POS Windows-based PC based touch screen stations, so serving staff can line bust and take orders table side.

Using an Apple iGeneration wireless product as an iPad POS station requires the customer to install a commercial grade wireless network that supports the 5 GHz wireless band and where peripheral devices are Internet Protocol devices. All devices participating on the network are connected via an ethernet category 5 cable to the commercial grade router for sharing of data.

The back office access for managers and owners is a web-based platform that is easy to use and very flexible. Managers and owners simply access their favourite internet browser, connect to the secure portal and make changes, run reports, setup store configurations and even get custom alerts anytime, anywhere.

AIREUS SETS UP YOUR WIRELESS SYSTEM

There is a crucial step to installing a successful iPad POS system:  your floorplan layout needs to go through heat mappingWe can determine the ideal locations for antennas for optimum performance and ensure that the network is optimized and enhanced to work in your specific environment. The design of your network consists of the WiFi antennas correctly placed in your restaurant, the router (which acts as a traffic cop for all the systems data) and your dedicated internet connection. Simply run ethernet Cat 5 cable from each wireless access point(s) and IP printer to a central location, such as a wiring closet or office. By utilizing WiFi technology, Aireus is able to control functions, policies, and data forwarding to your devices while maintaining a centralized management system for monitoring from our offices, so you never have to worry about configuring, supporting and setting up your antenna or router.

Which ISP is Best for You?

DSL: Pros & Cons

Through regular telephone lines (like dial-up) it delivers download speeds up to 25 Mbps per second. There are two types of DSL: Asymmetric DSL (ADSL) and Symmetric DSL (SDSL). ADSL is cheaper and has faster download speeds than upload speeds. SDSL has equally fast upload and download speeds.

DSL PROS: It is typically less expensive than other broadband options, and the speeds you get from DSL are also usually very stable.

DSL CONS: The quality and speed can vary based on distance from the provider’s central office.

Cable Broadband: Pros & Cons

It operates over coaxial cable TV wires and provides speeds ranging from 3 Mbps to over 100 Mbps.

CABLE PROS: The quality and speed of your service doesn’t depend on distance. Cable is also much faster than DSL, and more widely available.

CABLE CONS: The more people in your neighbourhood using the service at once, the slower the internet service will be for everyone. Use a dedicated line with speeds of 10Mbps down and 1Mbps up to maintain a fast and efficient solution without the burden of bandwidth management.
